The Padma Riverbank, the Night City, and Lalon Shah Mukto Moncho

The Padma Riverbank, the Night City, and Lalon Shah Mukto Moncho

My First Day in Rajshahi: A Peaceful Evening by the Padma River

My first-day plan in Rajshahi was not very big. I simply wanted to explore the city a little, spend some time by the Padma River, and experience the evening atmosphere of Rajshahi up close.

As daylight slowly started to fade, the mood of the city also began to change. Even with busy roads, shops, and people moving around, Rajshahi has a calm feeling. The trees, relatively open roads, and the fresh air near the Padma River made me like the city from the very first day.

My Current Location in Rajshahi and Map View of the Padma River Area

In the evening, I went to Lalon Shah Mukto Moncho near the Padma River. This place is one of the well-known hangout spots in Rajshahi. After reaching there, it felt like this place becomes a small gathering point for the people of the city after sunset.

Families, groups of friends, small food stalls, and the cool breeze coming from the river made the whole environment lively and enjoyable.

Night Food Stalls and Lighting Around Mukto Moncho

On the way to Mukto Moncho, I saw several small food stalls on both sides of the road. Some were selling tea, some had fried snacks, and others offered different types of light food. The colorful lights from these stalls made the night atmosphere even more beautiful.

These small shops are very simple, but they keep the place alive. People were sitting and talking, some were buying food, while others were just walking around and enjoying the surroundings.

Entrance Area of Lalon Shah Mukto Moncho and Food Stalls

After entering the main area of Mukto Moncho, the first thing that caught my attention was its open circular structure and the sitting areas around it. Many people were sitting on the step-style seats. Some came with their families, some were spending time with friends, and some were sitting alone while enjoying the breeze from the river.

Central Area of Lalon Shah Mukto Moncho

The seating areas of Mukto Moncho are decorated with colorful tiles. At night, when the lights turn on, the place looks even more attractive. From a distance, it feels like this is not just a stage, but an open public space where people come to relax and spend time together.

Step-Style Seating Area and Evening Gathering

After spending some time there, I realized that the beauty of Rajshahi is not only in big tourist attractions. The simple evening life of the city, the riverside, people’s natural conversations, and the small food stalls all have their own charm.

Sitting by the Padma River, enjoying the night breeze, walking around Mukto Moncho, and observing the local environment made my first day in Rajshahi a very pleasant experience.

My first day in Rajshahi ended beside the Padma River, surrounded by the lights, conversations, and peaceful night atmosphere of Lalon Shah Mukto Moncho. Without a big plan, this evening became a memorable part of my trip.

The next day, I plan to explore more places in Rajshahi. The story of Rajshahi has only just begun.
